GO DOWN THE SLOPES BY THE WORLD'S BEST SKIERS IS POSSIBLE IN MERIBEL!
This winter, Meribel and Courchevel will welcome the worl's best skiers during the World Alpine Ski Championships from February 6th to 19th, 2023!
A unique competition, that France has only hosted 4 times in France in the past, in Chamonix in 1937 and 1962, in Grenoble 1968 and Val d'Isere 2009.
2 sites and instead of just one, that's the major originality of 2023's edition! Courchevel on one side, Meribel on the other, both part of the 3 Valleys, that's twice more show and emotions!
The competition of the World Alpine Ski Championship will be held during 2 weeks, between February 6th and 19th, 2023.
More than 600 athletes, coming from 75 nations, will be attending and over 200 000 spectators and 600 millions viewers are expected to watch the show.
Athrilling international event
After the Olympic Games, this is the world's largest ski event! It unites in a sole location - or two in this particular case - the best alpine skiers, men and women, of all disciplines.
Over 12 days, it represents 6 disciplines and 54 medals.
For the public, it will be 15 days of celebration in a festive atmosphere that will leave you unforgetable moments. In Meribel, you will be able attend the Women's competitions on the mythical slope of Roc de Fer, that has previously hosted the 1992 Olympics Women ski events, as well as the 2015 and 2022 World Cup Finals!
Those World Championship are also an occasion to gather and during the opening and closing ceremonies, and party around the countless concerts and entertainment events... Two weeks, rich of emotions, to share with the locals, the teams and all the ones attending!
The best of skiing in the meantime
During the Championships, only 5 slopes will be closed: the Eclipse and the Granges on Courchevel side, Roc de fer, Choucas and Eterlou on Meribel's, which represents only 1% of the 3 Valleys ski area. Tunnels for the skiers have been designed to allow the skiers to pass under the competition pists and access to the lifts. The 3 Valleys connection will remain as usual. No excuses to skip Meribel holidays!
In addition to that, as lots of accommodation will be occupied by athletes and organisation teams, lots of ski fans will gather around the finish line, there should be less people on the slopes! A great occasion to ski quietly in the 3 Valleys during school holidays!
